Anne Burks Ceramics

All of my work is hand built using slabs, pinching and coiling.  I mostly make figurative pieces.  These figures come from imaginary worlds, are quietly thoughtful and generally adorned with hats or headdresses.  Most of the pieces are earthenware decorated with underglazes and glaze, and some are further embellished with gold leaf.  I also make small angular pots and pebbles with textured surfaces.
